mPriyamani is an actress who has not restricted herself to her mother tongue but has made her own place in other languages as well. She won the National Award for the film Paruthiveeran and recently acted in the films Jawaan and Article 370 starring Yami Gautham. Priyamani has been open about not acting with leading actors in Tamil and Telugu.
In an interview to Galata Plus, Priyamani said that she was surprised that she was not given the opportunity to act with leading stars. The reason for that is quite unclear. Priyamani said that this should really be asked of the producers and directors.
“With all due respect, I’m not trying to blame anyone. Many people have said that I wasn’t given a chance because my performance would be better than that of my co-stars. That’s what I hear all the time. It’s not true but I don’t know the real reason behind the denial. But it’s okay, I’m very happy.” Priyamani explained.
Never trust is a numbers game. She is not a thinker who has to act with the leading heroes in order to be noticed by others. It’s just that doing so will have its own merits. I have felt sad that I was not called to act with the main actors. Priyamani said that they would greet each other when they met.
Ajay Devgan starrer Maithan is the movie that Priyamani is preparing for release. The film is based on the life of Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Directed by Amrit Sharma. Last year she also acted in Mohanlal starrer Ner.
