Noyb: X illegally collects European data for artificial intelligence training

Recently, X (formerly Twitter) began using the profiles of more than 60 million users in the European Economic Area without their consent to train its artificial intelligence technology. Unlike Meta (which also recently had to stop AI training in the EU), Twitter doesn’t even inform users of this in advance. That’s too much even for Ireland’s Data Protection Commission, which is otherwise quite friendly to big tech companies: It launched legal proceedings against Twitter on Tuesday.
