According to the police, hay balers were identified as the cause of the flames. Friction with stones caused flying sparks and fires, which destroyed more than two hectares of stubble fields.
A total of 35 fire brigades were deployed in the Braunau and Schärding districts. Two fire brigades with around 25 people had to move out to a field fire in Ulrichsberg in the Mühlviertel district of Rohrbach.
