O NVIDIA CEO manifested itself in defense of CUDA architectures at an event held by DANDRUFF (Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Association). The position taken by the executive was a response to what was said by Intel CEO, Pat Gelsinger, regarding the matter recently.
In this case, he believes that the entire artificial intelligence industry is determined to eliminate CUDA from the market. Jensen Huang, then, took part in defending the architecture, in addition to talking about the role of technology in NVIDIA’s future. But, that doesn’t mean the company will be stubborn about it.
Huang’s speech mentioned the scenario in which video cards stopped being just specialized graphics chips and became protagonists in relation to AI applications. In general, he understands that this type of hardware has a promising future. The event also included a question about the dominance of architecture over the AI hardware industry.
In response, Huang said that GPUs have the ability to handle different usage scenarios, in addition to being able to adapt to the various needs of humans. Likewise, the executive also guaranteed that NVIDIA will maintain its leadership position in the future, without giving any opportunity to its competitors.
Even so, it is worth mentioning that he also said that NVIDIA will not fight reality. In other words, if the industry really tries to leave the CUDA architecture behind, the company will not continue insisting against it and will accept the situation.
