Nvidia and Sega Announce Partnership for RTX Spark PCs
Nvidia has officially announced that Sega games are coming to RTX Spark PCs, a new category of superchips designed for slim Windows laptops and compact desktop computers. The partnership, unveiled at an event held at GiGO Akihabara in Tokyo on July 15, 2026, confirms that the upcoming title Virtua Fighter Crossroads will be among the first Sega games available on the platform.
The announcement was made by Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang, who was joined by Sega CEO Haruki Satomi, Sega COO Shuji Utsumi, Virtua Fighter creator Yu Suzuki, and former Sega President Shoichiro Irimajiri. Beyond Virtua Fighter Crossroads, Nvidia confirmed that additional future Sega titles are also slated for the RTX Spark ecosystem.

A Three-Decade Relationship
The collaboration marks 30 years of partnership between the two companies. Notably, Nvidia’s first graphics accelerator, the NV1, powered the original Virtua Fighter title on PC. According to recollections shared by Jensen Huang in 2024, the relationship proved critical to Nvidia’s survival during its early years. In 1996, while Nvidia was struggling to design a GPU for a next-generation Sega console, the project faced challenges due to incompatibility with the emerging DirectX API. Despite the project’s failure, Sega’s management provided a $5 million investment in Nvidia. This financial support allowed the company to pivot its architecture, leading to the development of the DirectX-friendly RIVA line in 1997 and the subsequent GeForce series in 1999.
Technology Integration for Future Titles
Nvidia’s RTX Spark, which was first announced at Computex 2026, is described by the company as an AI-powered system-on-a-chip (SoC) for the PC platform. Sega’s upcoming titles for these devices are expected to leverage modern gaming technologies to enhance the player experience.
According to the official announcement, the games ported to the RTX Spark platform will utilize:

- NVIDIA Ray Tracing
- DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling)
- Nvidia-powered AI technologies
These features are intended to offer new ways for gamers to experience Sega’s franchises while modernizing them for a new era of Windows PCs designed for AI and high-performance gaming.
Context of the Tokyo Event
The July 15 event at GiGO Akihabara—the site of the original Sega Akihabara Arcade—served as the formal unveiling of the RTX Spark for the Japanese market. The gathering highlighted how the companies have evolved their technology partnerships across multiple generations of hardware.
While Nvidia focused on the RTX Spark and the inclusion of Sega software, the event also featured a raffle for attendees to win a GeForce RTX 5090 FE graphics card. The celebration brought together key figures from the history of both companies to connect their shared heritage with the future of the gaming industry on new Windows PCs.
As of the current announcement, Nvidia has confirmed that Sega is part of an expanding ecosystem of industry leaders supporting the RTX Spark platform, alongside other companies such as Capcom, CD Projekt, Konami, Mihoyo, Saber, Wargaming, and Xbox. While a variety of games are listed for the platform—including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Fortnite, Pragmata, League of Legends, Valorant, PUBG, Naraka Bladepoint, and Alan Wake II—Nvidia has not yet specified which titles are built natively for Arm architecture.
