NVSC: Four people have died from the flu, the incidence is decreasing

According to the center, one person was in the 70-79 age group, three people were in the 80-89 age group, and all had chronic conditions. A total of 16 deaths have been reported this flu season, compared to 21 flu-related deaths at the same time last flu season.

According to the State Data Agency, 381 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded last week, and three people died from the coronavirus.

The total incidence rate of both flu, ÄVKTI, and COVID-19 last week reached 1422.5 cases per 100 thousand. population. The previous week, it reached 1809.5 cases per 100 thousand. population.

The lowest incidence rate of these diseases was registered in Utena county, the highest in Vilnius county. Last year, 126 people were hospitalized due to the flu – 58 children (0-17 years old), 14 people belonging to the 18-64 age group, and 54 seniors. Four persons were treated in intensive care units, one of them a child.
