The training session on the communication of seasonal forecasts ended this Saturday, April 29, 2023 on a note of satisfaction. The last phase, which took place in the amphitheater of the AGRHYMET Regional Center in Niamey, Niger, was devoted to the presentation of some press productions, the overall evaluation of the session and the prospects, in particular the practical arrangements for in synergy of actors at the regional level to sustain and capitalize on the achievements. The delegate from Benin Michel AHONON and three other Senegalese, Togolese and Nigerien delegates received a mandate to continue the preparatory acts for the convening of meetings for the formalization of this framework at the regional level.
This training and capacity building session for media players was initiated by the AGRHYMET regional center as part of the implementation of the AICCRA project aimed at accelerating the impact of research in Africa.
The Beninese journalist invited as a resource person for having designed and implemented a communication strategy for the results of seasonal forecasts at the local and national level for seven years, presented to his peers in the region Benin’s experience in this initiative, the echoes of which arrived at the regional structures.
