In addition to Odessa, six more cogeneration units have been installed in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city. These initiatives allow cities to generate their own electricity independently, reducing dependence on the national grid, which is a primary target in Russia’s war strategy.

UNDP estimates that Russian missile attacks and drone strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector have caused over $20 billion in damage.
