ÖFB European Championship qualification squad with Sabitzer, Schnegg, Sarkaria, Bachmann

Austria’s soccer team boss Ralf Rangnick has nominated Marcel Sabitzer for the European Championship qualifiers on June 17th once morest Belgium and on June 20th once morest Sweden. The midfielder has been unavailable to Manchester United for the past few weeks with a knee injury. In addition, Rangnick brought two potential debutants with the two Sturm Graz pros Manprit Sarkaria and David Schnegg.

Daniel Bachmann, the ÖFB one-goalie at the European Championship two years ago, is given another chance. The Watford Legionnaire is one of four goalkeepers in the 27-man squad. Heinz Lindner, most recently regular keeper, is out following his tumor operation, and Gernot Trauner also had to pass due to injury.

After home wins over Azerbaijan (4-1) and Estonia (2-1) in March, Austria leads Group F with six points, followed by Belgium and Sweden with three points each. However, the Belgians have only played one match so far.
