Official: Ibrahim Buhari joins Swedish club IF Elfsborg

IF Elfsborg have welcomed one of the best defenders in the NPFL. Ibrahim Buhari arrives in Sweden from Plateau United ranked second last season behind River Plates.

The signing was made last summer and since then the player himself and the club had to wait for the work permit, which is now ready. “I am very, very happy to be here. I feel ready to finally start working properly,” he told the club’s website.

Buhari, 20, joins six-time champions Allsvenskan on a four-year deal. The Nigerian defender is already in Borås, Sweden, and is expected to join Elfsborg’s first team immediately.

Last season, the young international played 34 straight games for Plateau United, scoring six goals.
