Chelsea announced in the early hours of Saturday, through the club’s official website and its official accounts on social media, the sale of the club to a new owner.
Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the prestigious London club, as a result of restrictions imposed in England on all Russian businessmen following Russia’s war on Ukraine.
And Chelsea Football Club published a statement on its official website saying: “Chelsea announces the purchase of Todd Boeley of the club and that he is the new owner.. Chelsea Football Club can confirm that the terms for a new ownership group have been agreed to acquire the club led by Todd Boeley, Klerlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjorg Weiss.” .
Chelsea had reached an agreement in the past hours with the Todd Boley alliance to sell the club for 2.5 million pounds, with the new owners obligated to pay 1.75 billion pounds to invest in the club.
The Chelsea team has been eliminated this season from the Champions League from the quarter-finals by Real Madrid, while it is competing strongly to stay in the semi-finals of the English Premier League, 4 rounds before the end of the Premier League competition this season.
