OHL: Logan Mailloux’s troops still have the upper hand over Filip Mesar

The London Knights defeated the Kitchener Rangers in Game 2 of the series between the two teams with a convincing 8-4 victory.

Canadiens prospect Logan Mailloux continued to be a big factor for the Knights in the playoffs, scoring a goal and assisting. Mailloux now has four goals and six assists in just seven playoff games.

For his part, the other hope of the CH at work Filip Mesar finished the meeting with an assist and a differential of -3. The young Slovak had four points in six playoff games.

Forward Diaco Gerge finished the game with three assists, while center Sean McGurn registered his fifth of the playoffs.

Knights goaltender Brett Brochu picked up his sixth victory, leading virtually every goalie category in the OHL since the start of the playoffs.

Although the Rangers surprised everyone by winning their first-round showdown against the Windsor Spitfires in four games, Mike McKenzie’s squad are largely overlooked against the mighty Knights.

The third duel between Mailloux and Mesar will take place Sunday at 2 p.m.
