Jeddah: In the wake of the Israeli-Palestinian war, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called an emergency meeting. The emergency meeting was called by Saudi Arabia, which holds the presidency of the Islamic Organization. A meeting of ministers of the organization will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.

Saudi Arabia accused Israel of ignoring the warnings of international agencies including the UN. Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Jassim Albudaiwi called for an end to attacks targeting civilians to avoid tragedy. It is also noteworthy that the emergency meeting has been called following Saudi Arabia withdrew from the talks to improve relations with Israel.

Meanwhile, Palestinians continue to flee Gaza en masse as the war escalates. The mass exodus began following the Israeli army warned the 11 lakh people in northern Gaza to evacuate within 24 hours. Residents of northern Gaza and UN officials were warned on Friday to move to the south and the Rafah border areas. Those staying in refugee camps in schools and health centers have also been advised to evacuate. Unconfirmed estimates put the death toll in the war at over 3,000.
