Two firefighters were sent on the night of Saturday July 1 to Sunday July 2, 2023 to the site of an old abandoned café, located rue Robert Fesler in Marchienne-au-Pont.
For an undetermined reason, around 1:45 a.m., the fire notably affected the ground floor of the building, as well as a platform located at the back of a neighboring house. Fortunately, the platform was only slightly damaged.
In total, according to the Hainaut-Est rescue zone, around fifteen firefighters were sent to the scene of the disaster. No injuries are reported. It’s not the first time that this former café has hit the headlines. Last January, similar events occurred. Traces of cannabis plants and related material had been found.
