Vienna must finally learn the right lessons from the RH report

Vienna (OTS) “The issue surrounding the SPÖ allotment garden and land use scandal has been with us for several weeks now. New findings are constantly coming to light. However, there are no reports of any major deeds on the part of the city government,” said the planning spokeswoman for the Vienna People’s Party, local councilor Elisabeth Olischar, in the course of the urgent request to Mayor Ludwig at today’s meeting of the local council.

It is more than a pale aftertaste when politicians from the Vienna SPÖ obviously benefit from reallocations. “The SPÖ is really playing a big game of chance here,” said the housing spokesman for the Vienna People’s Party, local councilor Peter Sittler.

The issue of zoning is generally like a fight against windmills. “The population doesn’t feel taken care of. And the construction industry is confronted with non-transparent processes,” says Olischar. As is well known, the Court of Auditors also recently criticized this.

The city government must therefore finally draw the right lessons from the RH report. “In any case, the current actions are the opposite of responsible politics. There needs to be more transparency when it comes to urban land,” concludes Sittler.
