Olivia Rodrigo Wins 3 2022 Grammy Awards

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Newcomer singer Olivia Rodrigo successfully bagged three trophies Grammy Awards 2022 in the event on Monday (4/4/2022).

The first trophy it clinched was in the Best Solo Pop Performance category.

Thanks to the song “Drivers License”, Olivia Rodrigo beat Justin Bieber (“Anyone”), Brandi Carlile (“Right on Time”), Billie Eilish (“Happier Than Ever”), and Ariana Grande (“Positions”).

Second, the singer named Olivia Isabel Rodrigo won the Best New Artist category.

“Many thanks to the Recording Academy. My biggest dream has come true, thank you so much. Thank you to everyone in this sphere, especially John Janick for believing in me and writing my songs,” he said in a speech.

Then, in the third, he took home the trophy in the Best Pop Vocal Album category with the album Sour.

Sour is his debut album which will be released on May 21, 2021.

Taking to the stage for the third time today, Olivia was still stammering to start her speech.

He told me that when he was 9 years old, he told his mother that he would become a gymnast even though in reality he couldn’t somersault.

“I want to thank my mom for being so supportive of all my dreams no matter how crazy they are. I want to thank my mom and dad as proud of me winning a Grammy as they taught me to walk,” Olivia said.
