Oman will not raise fuel prices until the end of next year

Muscat: There will be no increase in fuel prices in Oman until the end of next year. Petrol price from October 2021 will be around 25 Omani fils (Rs 53). It was decided to keep fuel prices at the current rate until next year in a cabinet meeting chaired by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq at Al Husn Palace in Salalah as part of the National Day celebrations.

It has been decided to reduce the fees for various government services and to waive certain fees. Job security will be provided to Omani workers who have lost their jobs until June next year. The Sultan also ordered promotion for the 2012 batch of Oman government employees. Those who are eligible for promotion under Civil Service Scheme and other categories will get the benefit. Home loans of retired Sultan’s Armed Forces waived off.

This benefit is available to those whose monthly income is less than 450 riyals (Rs. 95400). The cabinet also decided to start national projects aimed at economic stability for the next three years.
