Omantel Hosted 3rd Webinar on Role of 5G Technology in Improving Customer Services

Muscat: – Omantel, the main telecommunications operator of the Sultanate of Oman, organized yesterday, Wednesday May 25, its 3rd webinar to discuss the 5G technology, its potential and its impacts on customers and consumers. The company, which was the first to introduce 5G technology to the Sultanate, is hosting a series of webinars to focus on this cutting-edge digital technology. The first webinar was held on November 23, 2021 under the theme “5G Beyond Speed” and the second ended on March 9 under the title “Unlocking New Potentials”.

The 3rd webinar received an unprecedented response, with the participation of heads of ICT/IT departments of Omantel’s corporate clients from the public and private sectors, stakeholders from the public and private sectors and academia, journalists and social media influencers. The webinar, held under the theme “5G from a Consumer Perspective”, featured three speakers who shared their thoughts, strategies and ideas on the latest developments and benefits of 5G technology.

The 3rd webinar saw the participation of speakers who shared their ideas, strategies and experiences on the latest developments brought by 5G. Baran Yurdagul, General Manager of Consumer Marketing at Omantel, highlighted the role of 5G in the development of smart home technologies, while Miss Huani Yo, senior researcher at Ericsson’s ConsumerLab highlighted the importance of 5G to provide high-speed broadband to consumers. Mohammed Al Murshid, Network Director of Zain Group, presented the use of 5G to deliver immersive experiences.
