Researchers in Britain were able to determine the period of immunity provided by the third dose of Corona vaccines, stressing that it is “short-term”, lasting less than 6 months.

However, they made it clear that it provides protection from severe symptoms of infection with the Corona virus that lasts longer than that, according to a report published by the “NPR” radio website.
They also found that protection begins after the third dose of the Pfizer vaccine, about two weeks after obtaining it, and protects the body with an effective rate of 70%, but it decreases after about 3 months to reach the effectiveness of 40-50% for immunization against severe symptoms of corona.
Watch out for new mutants
In turn, Jennifer Gummerman, a scientist specializing in the immune system, explained that the effectiveness of the vaccine against infection depends on the level of our antibodies because it is in fact our first line of defense against Corona.
She added that this is normal, as the level of antibodies rises rapidly after an injection of any vaccine, and then decreases again over time.
She also pointed out that we must bear in mind that there are new mutations that antibodies may not work with, as vaccines stimulate other parts of the immune system that help prevent infection from getting out of control.
She emphasized that a low level of antibodies may mean that we are susceptible to infection, but not necessarily to strong symptoms of the disease.
Corona is not over, so beware!
These developments came after the World Health Organization warned that Corona had not ended after recording new records of infections during the last 24 hours, alerting the danger of complacency with the new Omicron mutant of the emerging Corona virus, despite its mild symptoms.
Dr Maria van Kerkhove, an epidemiologist and technical officer for COVID-19 at WHO, said that recent questions are that the benefit of avoiding the ubiquitous Omicron is very dangerous and deserves to be answered.
She also added that the reason for the strong desire to prevent the spread of the omicron variant of the SARS-Cove-2 virus is primarily because the possibility of exacerbating the situation to become severe and dangerous exists, especially among those who suffer from chronic or serious diseases, the elderly and those who did not receive the vaccine. The Corona virus has caused the death of at least 5,537,051 people in the world since it appeared in China in December 2019.
