In the restorer’s garage we are greeted by the persistent smell of gasoline. Everywhere you look there are tools of different kinds, car parts and components. There is also a German rarity here – a black Opel Kapitän. This is a luxury car, so not everyone could afford it. Various modifications of Opel were published until 1970. Engineering and design solutions formed the basis of the GAZ M-20 – the very Soviet Pobeda. “Captain” Zasorin is a trophy.

— With the end of the Great Patriotic War, ours exported trophies from Germany. Generals, as a rule, brought cars. Colonels, for example, motorcycles. Majors – guns, sets. The soldiers got something easier. One of our military men brought “Captain” here to Omsk. He drove it for about 20 years, and then sold it. A worker from Krutaya Gorka bought the car from him. She went there for many years,” says the restorer.
