The domestic OMV and the Russian Gazprom are bound to each other by, among other things, a long-term gas supply contract until 2040. It has now become known that the two companies are arguing with each other before an international arbitration tribunal in Paris.
According to OÖN information, it’s not about the gas contract, but about formal things. A Dutch Gazprom subsidiary is considered to be involved. OMV is not providing any information about the content of the dispute. The dispute became known because Gazprom is fighting the dispute in Paris with a counterclaim; it is seeking a ban on arbitration proceedings. The commercial court in St. Petersburg has scheduled a first hearing in the matter for April 16.
