On Mars, Curiosity, the NASA robot, celebrates its 10th anniversary

He was only to stay two years. Finally, the NASA Curiosity robot has been exploring Mars for ten years. On August 6, 2012, it landed on the red planet. Since then, he has traveled just over 28 kilometers. An accomplishment made possible thanks to the work of many scientists on the design and realization of this NASA mission. Curiosity notably made it possible to discover that the explored region was habitable 3.6 billion years ago. Environmental conditions then changed to a drier climate as water moved underground. Scientists are now studying this transition to an arid passage. The activity of the Martian explorer robot has just been extended by NASA until September 2025. It will have to head to a new area in order to continue its explorations. Through these few kilometres, researchers hope to pierce millions of years.
