The Municipality of Córdobathrough the Ministry of Transport, remember that traveling on the Urban Passenger Transport buses is free every Sunday in January, from six in the morning until the end of the day.
The initiative bears the name of “Family Sundays”, was promoted by the mayor Martin Llaryora and the Secretary of Transportation, Marcelo Rodio, and already had three successful days during Christmas, New Year and last Sunday, for which a similar acceptance is expected during Sundays 15, 22 and 29 of this month.
“The objective is to enable families from Cordoba to spend a day with their family, get together, visit grandparents, share an outing between parents and children, nephews, uncles and grandchildren, something that with free transportation becomes accessible to everyone,” Llaryora said.
For his part, the Secretary of Transportation, Marcelo Rodio, highlighted that the free nature of the bus ticket runs for the normal routes of all the lines of the three companies that cover the service, which will have amortized their costs per kilometer traveled, and clarified that the benefit does not extend to extraordinary services (Intended to transport spectators to musical or sporting events).
A benefit for all ages
The official also recalled that it is not necessary to present the card to travel on those days and that the benefit reaches all ages.
“During the three Sundays that we already had free buses, we witnessed days full of happiness in the units that make up this Public Transport subsystem, especially since the lines of the three borrowing companies were filled with families, children’s laughter, parents, mothers, uncles and grandparents who enjoyed that day so essential for feelings”, highlighted Rodio.
The secretary also suggested that “in order to have an ideal family experience and make the most of the free bus ticket for all Cordovans during all the days of the next three Sundays, either to visit grandparents, to a walk to the renovated Sarmiento park or to enjoy the large number of activities that can be carried out, it is ideal to resort to the advantages of scheduling that day with the Tu Bondi app”.
Rodio recalled that “this application, which is already fourth in the world and first in Latin America in its field, allows you to see what time the bus will pass through the nearest stop, see the ideal combinations to move from one point to another in the city and also shows the routes and lines that pass through the chosen destination to enjoy with the family”.
