A big fan of monster movies, Tim Burton has always paid homage to them throughout his career. Miss Peregrine and Peculiar Children is not to be outdone since we come across the terrifying Sepulchres, a sort of disjointed bogeyman. And to embody the great villain of the story, the disturbing and bombastic Barron, the director immediately chooses Samuel L. Jackson.
Together, they agree not to make the character excessively sinister, ensuring the balance between his human side and his monstrous side. Because it must be said that his physical appearance is particularly frightening: white hair, almost transparent eyes, pointed teeth… Not to mention his keen appetite for the eyes of particular children (of which we retain a memorable scene of eyeball feasts! )
