Once Mekel emphatically explained that Ahmad Dhani could not be prosecuted regarding the alleged copyright infringement case. Once felt that all this time the royalties had been taken care of by the LMKN for Ahmad Dhani.
Once Mekel explained, for years he had done this to Ahmad Dhani and there had never been a problem. Now Ahmad Dhani is just making an issue of it.
Once explained this during a press conference in the South Jakarta area last night.
This is still related to allegations of copyright infringement filed Ahmad Dhani on Once Mekel.
“Once again the rules are like that, that I can’t be blamed let alone punished,” said Once Mekel.
“Because, when I perform, I make a contract where the EO (event organizer) in question will have the obligation to pay royalties to the National Collective Management Institute, so I am released from that responsibility as a user and it has been going on for years,” he continued.
So far Once Mekel he has been open about this to Ahmad Dhani and the pioneer of Dewa 19 also agrees.
Even so, Once admitted that there was no solid agreement between them and Ahmad Dhani regarding Dewa 19’s music royalties.
“But I also mentioned Mas Dhani, that I am open personally as a friend. This means that we don’t immediately close it, it’s just that we don’t have an agreement yet, but once again the rules are like that,” continued Once Mekel.
It is known that Ahmad Dhani has sent a summons to Once Mekel not to be allowed to sing the Dewa 19 song anymore. If Once violates this then Ahmad Dhani will take this case to the realm of law.
