“There are minor sign syndromes that are not specific to lung cancer. They are often found in other tumors of other localizations. These are weight loss, weakness, appetite disorder and apathy. As for the specific ones, with the central localization of the tumor it is a cough with sputum and blood, shortness of breath, and it can take severe forms even at rest, ”Andrey Pylev.

According to the oncologist, people who are at risk should be regularly examined for the development of lung cancer. “Screening for lung cancer is only necessary for smokers with a smoking history of more than 15 years. This is already a reliably confirmed risk group, and such people should do it. They should have computed tomography as screening programs, which very often detects lung cancer in the early stages. If we are talking about an ordinary person, then doing screening is completely pointless, ”the specialist emphasized.
