A woman and her daughter were killed, and 10 others were seriously injured, this Friday morning; After a train collided with a microbus on the crossings of the village of Akyad, affiliated to the Faqous Police Station, Sharkia Governorate.
The accident resulted in the death of a mother and her daughter and the injury of 10 other people with serious injuries, and they were all transferred to Faqous Central Hospital to receive first aid.
The bodies of the two deceased were transferred to the Faqous Central Hospital mortuary, while a force of security men moved to the site of the accident, backed by a force from the General Administration of Eastern Traffic, to remove the effects of the accident, remove the wreckage of the wrecked car, and restore the movement of trains to normal again.
Initial investigations revealed that while a microbus driver was crossing the railway tracks from a cross-pass in the village of Kafr Akiyad, the train coming from Zagazig to Faqous hit him.
The necessary report was released and the investigation authorities were notified to inspect and to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
