A serious train accident has occurred near Vienna. The emergency services report one dead and many injured. Nothing is known about the cause of the accident.
At least one person died in a train crash near the Austrian capital Vienna. As the authorities announced, a train in the Mödling district derailed in the early evening. Two wagons of the so-called Raaberbahn fell over.
According to the Red Cross, three people were seriously injured and nine others were slightly injured. About 100 uninjured passengers were taken to a disaster relief center. The Austrian newspaper “Der Standard” even reported about 30 injuries, citing an employee of the emergency call center.

According to initial information, around 100 helpers and four helicopters were deployed in the Münchendorf area to rescue the victims. No information was initially available about the cause of the accident.
