One Person Dies in Fire in Eagle Rock – NBC Los Angeles

One person died Friday in a house fire in Eagle Rock.

Dozens of firefighters were dispatched to the 1400 block of West Hepner Avenue at 8:05 am and were able to extinguish the flames in the single-story building in regarding half an hour. The fire was prevented from spreading to other homes, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Three people escaped, but one person was found dead inside the residence. No injuries were reported.

Details regarding the identity of the victim and the cause of the fire were not immediately available. Fire officials said there were reports that there were no working smoke alarms in the house.
