This year’s International Human Rights Film Festival One World again focuses on current issues related to human rights and their violations in the world around us.
Films will compete in traditional categories such as the International Competition and the Czech Competition, but also in the newly introduced competition section for projects in virtual reality. Feature films with human rights themes will also appear in the program.
Let’s take a look at seven unique films about equality, which this year’s twenty-sixth year of the festival offers across individual sections. Go to North Korea with Escape from Utopia, to the hard work of migrants in the film Borders of Europe, to drag art in homophobic Russia in the film Queendom or to the happiest country in the world in the film Gross National Happiness.

- George’s vision – Material physicist and lay savior of the planet Jiří Svoboda is a tragicomic hero of our time in the documentary Jiříkov’s Vision, which won the student jury award at the MFDF Jihlava. Movie review here.

- Border – One World is including feature films in the program for the first time this year. One of them is Agnieszka Holland’s harrowing Hranice, following the fate of refugees on the Polish-Belarusian border in the Białowieża Forest.
