Any doubt that OnePlus would produce successors to their current audio flagships may now be gone forever, as the OEM has been caught registering new Auriculares TWS with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It has been discovered that the certification not only reveals the new model number of the accessories (E509A), but that they will indeed be called the Buds 3 in one of their new regulatory images.
The new peripherals even look a lot like the Buds Pro 2 (or 2R) – and they even have almost exactly the same specifications, according to a new OnLeaks x MySmartPrice up to 48 decibels (dB) of active noise cancellation (ANC), Bluetooth 5.3 and a 520 mAh capacity battery for a total autonomy of up to 33 hours.
Consequently, it’s hard to see how the third-generation Buds will distinguish themselves at launch – then again, they would be the first vanilla versions of their line, a detail that likely means more significant updates are expected for the putative Buds Pro 3. Meanwhile, their real-life predecessors remain for sale before Cyber Monday in Amazon.
