With the German Bundesliga club Mainz 05, the former Austria-Salzburg striker was a guest in Nonntal on Tuesday.
The return to Salzburg was successful for ÖFB team striker Karim Onisiwo. The ex-Austria striker celebrated a 4-1 (2-0) win with FSV Mainz in the test against St. Gallen on the SAK pitch on Tuesday. Onisiwo was in action in the first half, after which there was a complete substitution.
Both coaches also have a Salzburg past: Bo Svensson (Mainz) used to look after FC Liefering, as did Peter Zeidler, who has been looking after the Swiss first division team since 2018. His protégés currently include two Austrians, former Red Bull Salzburg defender Albert Vallci and Tuesday’s honorary goal scorer Fabian Schubert. The goalkeeper is Lawrence Ati-Zigi, whom Zeidler already had under his wing at Liefering. He was last in action for Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar.
