Only he can surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 century achievement – Ravi Shastri

Sachin Tendulkar’s achievement of 100 international centuries is considered an unbreakable record in world cricket. Sachin has 49 centuries in ODIs and 51 centuries in Tests. Sachin scored his 100th century in ODI against Bangladesh.

But India’s former coach Ravi Shastri has come forward saying that Virat may sometimes be able to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries, but it will not be easy at all.

He added that a physically fit player can play good cricket for the next five to six years.
“How many players have scored a hundred centuries. There is only one. So breaking that record is a big deal.

As for Virat, he still has a long time to play cricket. He is a very fit player. So he might be able to surpass Sachin at times. I feel that Virat will be able to play cricket with excellence for another five or six years,’ said Ravi Shastri.

Currently, Virat who has played 108 Test matches, 274 ODIs and 115 T-20 matches has scored a total of 75 international centuries so far.

It includes 28 Test centuries and 46 ODI centuries. After November 2019, Virat won a century in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Meanwhile, giving a break to international matches, the IPL Cricket Mahamaham is starting from March 31. The group stage matches of the Indian Premier League will be held till May 21.
