Oommen Chandy contested and won. As Mr. Chandi Oommen said, ‘Appa’s thirteenth victory’. Apart from that, the UDF has no political claim in the Pudupally victory. An election that ignited sympathy at first and last. It is the political pettiness of the Congress to pass judgment against the LDF government only after winning. If you were ready for such a political party, you should have replaced your son with some Congress leaders and put aside the ‘Puthupalli factor’ called Oommen Chandy.

Oommen Chandy’s posthumous rituals and election campaigning were the same. On the 40th day, Oommen Chandy’s picture and floral tributes at every booth; organized Rashtriya Tirtha Yatras to the church where Oommen Chandy was buried..the candidate’s emotional mantra of ‘Appa’. Finally, the expression ‘Raman Appa’…Oommen Chandy’s son, daughter and family members kept the air time on screen. These were the election strategies of the Congress.. They have the freedom to do so. But during the campaign, don’t say a single political sentence and win only at the cost of the feeling of “father” and then boast that it is a political achievement. It is not at all logical to say that till the polling booth the “father” factor, and now the government factor.
