ALGIERS – The international textile, clothing, leather and equipment exhibition “TexStyle Expo” opened its doors on Sunday in Algiers, with the participation of nearly 170 national and foreign exhibitors.

Organized from November 19 to 21 at the Palais des Expositions, Pins maritimes in Algiers, this economic event is being held in the presence of more than a hundred foreign exhibitors, coming in particular from China, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Italy, Indonesia and India.

Kicking off the event, the Secretary General (SG) of the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA), Amar Takdjout, considered that “TexStyle Expo” constitutes “an opportunity for national players in the sector to explore partnership opportunities with their foreign counterparts.

Invited to the Show, the Vice-President of the Algerian Confederation of Citizen Employers (CAPC), Mohamed-Moncef Bouderba, for his part, highlighted the quality of the products exhibited, recalling that this sector is booming, particularly through investments made by public authorities for the revival of the sector.

“These investments will, of course, contribute to consolidating the transfer of technologies and the opening of the partnership, but they will also make it possible to capture FDI and direct production towards external markets,” he insisted.

As for the general director of the company organizing the show (CGCOM-EVENT), Mohamed-Lamine Bekkouche, he specified that the event aims to promote exchanges, as well as the creation of partnerships with a view to “developing a cutting-edge industry and a quality material in order to satisfy the requirements of customers on the local and international market.

On the exhibitor side, “TexStyle Expo”, in addition to the strong foreign presence recorded, has a remarkable participation of local companies, from all corners of the country. Algerian companies, who came to exhibit their products, are present through traditional clothing and artisanal know-how passed down from generation to generation, as well as modern processes and styles from the textile and leather industries.
