Opening of the exhibition “Following in the footsteps of General Vo Nguyen Giap”

(PLO) – An exhibition of historical poems and songs with the theme “Following in the footsteps of General Vo Nguyen Giap” is open to the public from now until February 20.

On February 1, Quang Binh Provincial General Museum collaborated with Vietnam Women’s Museum to organize an exhibition of historical poetry and songs with the theme “Following in the footsteps of General Vo Nguyen Giap”. This is an activity to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2023).

The exhibition “Following in the footsteps of General Vo Nguyen Giap” includes 110 poems by teacher, poet, journalist Nguyen Thi My Dung – The person who had the opportunity to meet and write many articles and poems about the talented general in Vietnam. over the past 20 years.

The works at the exhibition are presented on 92 silkscreen panels, introducing to the public the stories of the legendary General, along with historical and daily images associated with General Vo Nguyen Giap.

The exhibition consists of three parts: Part 1 is the poem and song introducing the whole scene of Dien Bien Phu Campaign under the ingenious leadership of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

Part 2, introduces ordinary and simple moments about a legendary general, a prominent military man of Vietnam.

Part 3 is the works expressing the love and respect of the Vietnamese people for General Vo Nguyen Giap and emotional moments during the national mourning day and sending him off to his hometown of Quang Binh.

Le Thi Hoai Thuong, Director of Quang Binh Museum, said that the exhibition aims to honor and pay tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap’s great merits and contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification. country, building and defending the country. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to remember the sacred feelings and deep concern of the beloved General for the people of the country in general, the Party Committee and the people of Quang Binh province in particular.

At the opening ceremony, author Nguyen Thi My Dung and the Vietnam Women’s Museum also presented the entire number of silk panels, performing 110 poems and singing about General Vo Nguyen Giap to Quang Binh Museum.
