Muscat: The shutters of Wadi Daikha Dam will be opened from September 27, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has announced.
By keeping it open till October 6, 15 million metric cubic meters of water will be released. Wadi Daiqa is one of the largest dams in the Arabian Peninsula and is located in Khuriyat, 75 km from Muscat. The dam has a storage capacity of one crore metric cube and a height of 75 meters.

The ministry explained that the dam is being opened to irrigate agricultural fields in underground reservoirs, Daghamar and Hail Al Ghaf. The ministry asked the plaintiff to stay away and follow safety instructions to avoid accidents.
