Sophie Bareis, Saskia Maas, Zuzana Petrasova, Martin Enger Holm, Christoph Gerhardus and Felix Lodel will appear in opera studio productions and music theater pieces for two years starting this season. The opera studio is a cooperation between the State Theater and the Bruckner University with the aim of making it easier for young singers to find a career after completing their studies.
280 applications
Martin Enger Holm reminds Linz of his homeland: “Austria is like Norway. There are many mountains, many small towns with historical centers,” says the singer, who had to learn German specifically. Sophie Bareis applied three years ago, and now it finally worked: “I liked the house from the start. I’m looking forward to being able to work on my skills in a protected environment.”
The opera studio will present itself on Saturday, October 14th, at 8 p.m. in the music theater with Ralph Benatzky’s operetta “Zur golden’nen Liebe” from 1931. Opera studio boss Gregor Horres, who had to wade through a total of 280 applications, will be leading the way of the rarely played operetta directed: “A cheerful piece that describes the time well.”
