Opinion of the trainers for the Quinté of Saturday 09/17/2022

Interviews with the coaches for the Prix du Cabinet des Livres in Chantilly

Matthew Boutin: Alright (1) remains on a success at this level. It was logically penalized for weight, but its good form is still valid. At the end of a good run, I hope to see him once again defend himself well, especially since he has often run very well on this track. It adapts well to soft terrain but not heavy, especially with the weight it will have to carry.

Henri-Alex Pantal: Strength Captain (2) remains on a good performance. Now he carries a little more weight. His form has remained in good shape. It might still be playable.

Stéphane Wattel: Mysterious Land (3) did not support the Deauville PSF this summer. On the other hand, it ran well last time and still looks good. I think he will evolve over a distance at his convenience.

Francois Monfort: Be Ahead (4) was making a comeback recently but I was disappointed with his performance, without any real explanation. The mare is in good shape, loves Chantilly and deserves a buyout. Although penalized by weight, it is much better than its last result. I expect rehabilitation.

Jean-Vincent Toux: Mubaalegh (5) remains on a very good behavior at the level that interests us. It is no longer presented in fifths. He remained in good shape, ready once again to defend well. I just hope for a track that is not too flexible, especially since the 1,200 meters represent the maximum of its resistance.

Gianluca Bietolini: Fayathaan (6) short in a close way because he did not come back very “tired” from his last race, where he never wanted to engage in the final phase. His form seems good to me and his analyzes are also excellent. He will find the straight line of Chantilly which has already succeeded and I hope to see him behave normally.

Mlle V. Head : Raysteve (7) was equipped with Australian blinders lately and it took little for him to win. This artifice had the expected effect, which is why we are repeating the experiment, hoping that this time victory will smile on us. Know that he remained in a very good state of form.

Eoghan-J. O’Neill: Petit Calvados (9) has been progressing well since May and being hidden behind the leaders has also improved her performance the last two times. It is worth 36.5 (+ 4.5 kilos compared to the last time), but is 2 kilos below its quotation at 2 years. She still has her chance.

Yuri Goossens: Baby Sim (10) returns to his distance and has already run well on the proposed course. It is still in very good condition. Here he has to face his elders but I hope he will be in the top five.

Mme Gina Rarick : Detesnouvelles (11) never ceases to please us. Lowered in weight, it has just proved to us that it could stand out in this kind of fifth. She is still in good shape and, with the race going well, I expect a good performance from her, even if she will once again have to face the elders.

Mme Erika Maeder: Sassy Rascal (12) got galloped over by rivals last time. This failure is therefore excusable. We are making the trip again from Germany, because the filly has remained in very good condition, hoping to see her, this time, have a better run and thus obtain a better result.

Henri-Alex Pantal: Heads or Tails (13) is a little delicate, a little tense. It really has to go well, but it didn’t run so badly last time, in Dieppe. He has the level of such a test.

Matthew Boutin: Lesser passer (14) is a three-year-old who goes up against the “old guys”. It must prove itself in the fifths which are specific races. In the morning, I like it. He can inherently do well, but still has to find his feet at this level of competition.

Frédéric Head : Al Ula (15) holds very little, if any, margin to weight. She deserves a lower value so that she can win, because she always gives the best. Here, as usual, she will do her best and I hope to see her finish at the finish.

Matthew Boutin: King Robbe (16) will have his ears blocked in order to channel it. We shorten the shot. I hope it will go better this time. He is a horse that appreciates soft trails.
