The A57 does not show off when it comes to photography. Rather than multiplying the more or less usable photo modules, the smartphone is content with a main 13-megapixel sensor, with wide-angle optics, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It therefore does not claim to rank among the born photophones, and automatically lacks versatility, since it ignores the ultra wide-angle.

If the Galaxy A13 delivers 12.5 megapixel shots (with pixel-binning, its sensor displaying 50 megapixels on the counter), the A57 captures images of 13 megapixels natively. Unfortunately, this does not allow it to rise to the level of its competitor. The images are sorely lacking in sharpness, and certain details disappear completely in the battle: the lines representing the marine areas on the cartography are completely blurred, for example. The set is noisy, but at least we can appreciate that the image remains clear on the periphery.
The damage is more cruel in low light. The image is riddled with noise and its extremities suffer from visible vignetting, which makes them unusable. In short, the whole is difficult to read.
Front module, portrait and video mode
The poor performance of the Oppo A57’s back module struggles to be compensated by its front camera. This one, with a definition of 8 megapixels, allows you to capture selfies that are a little too noisy to be really satisfactory. The clipping, available on the front and back, tends to lack finesse, but the level of blur (60% by default) can be adjusted by the user. Finally, an unstabilized video mode, in Full HD at 30 fps, is available on the front and back. Useful especially for extra videos.
