OPPO announced on the 8th local time that it will collaborate with Swedish camera manufacturer Hasselblad to develop the next generation HyperTone camera system. This was announced at the art event “Paris Photo 2023″ being held in Paris. The developed system is intended to be installed in the flagship model of OPPO’s Find series of smartphones, and is said to “provide users with a mobile camera experience they have never experienced before, beyond their imagination.” OPPO’s HyperTone camera system is equipped with a HyperTone ProXDR display, which uses 12-megapixel ProXDR technology to capture more natural-looking photos with natural tones. Additionally, Hasselblad’s Portrait Mode uses the Hypertone Engine to capture subtle tonal changes to create three-dimensional portraits that smooth out light and shadow without over-brightening faces. Regarding the system to be developed, OPPO says, “We will lead innovation with a new approach from an objective technical process, without relying on specific technical specifications that have become a tradition in the industry.” The new system will be developed in a laboratory made up of 50% professional photographers and 40% color experts. “We are committed to continuing to set new standards in the industry as we unveil the next generation HyperTone camera system and Hasselblad camera experience in 2024,” said Oliver Chan, OPPO Imaging Director.
