New twist: Jean-Marc Leblanc will no longer sit as an independent. He joined the MR, which is part of the PHA cartel at the head of the commune since the 2018 elections. He is therefore leaving the minority for the majority! The balance of power in the municipal council will therefore increase from 9 seats (for PHA) against 8 (for the minority) to 10-7.

“No poaching”

“I remain social, serving others, that’s evidence of my personality,” he explains in a press release. “But I now want to develop this personal brand in a more serene, more creative, more open way. With this in mind, I decided to join the ranks of the Reform Movement (MR), whose authorities opened their doors to me with enthusiasm. I thank them very much and I offer them my availability. »

Benjamin Lembourg, president of the MR, assures that there was no poaching. “Jean-Marc Leblanc took the initiative to contact us. We see that the teamwork of the MR is more and more appreciated and this is obviously positive. (…) I am sure that he will be an asset for the MR, particularly in the field of sport given his expertise in the organization of cycling races. »

Jacqueline Galant, president of MR Mons-Borinage, also welcomes this arrival. “Our agents do serious work and I am happy to see that they are encouraging other people to join us. I wish Jean-Marc a welcome to the MR and good work! »

Jean-Marc Leblanc, however, will not run again in 2024. He wishes to help and campaign for PHA without being on the list.
