Orenburg Region Flood Update: Ural River Level Reaches 864 cm

Moscow. April 7. INTERFAX.RU – The level of the Ural River near Orenburg rose to 864 cm by Sunday evening, the mayor’s office of the regional center reported.

Dangerous level – 930 cm. Unfavorable level has already been passed – 760 cm.

On Sunday followingnoon it was reported that the level of the Ural River near Orenburg had reached 856 cm. Thus, by the evening the level had risen by another 8 cm.

The water level in the Sakmara River near Tatar Kargaly on Sunday evening is 765 cm. This is 12 cm more than during the day.

Since April 4, a regional emergency regime has been in effect in the Orenburg region due to the worsening flood situation. On Sunday, a government commission decided to classify the flood in the Orenburg region as a federal emergency.
