Orlando Pirates: Riveiro aware of his team’s offensive difficulties

Orlando Pirates coach Jose Rivero has identified areas that need improvement in the Buccaneers offensive line.

If the Orlando Pirates defense is doing well at the start of the season, conceding only 5 goals in 10 days, the attack does not work perfectly with only 6 achievements. A very disappointing figure compared to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns (15 goals), SuperSport United (14), Stellenbosch (13) or Kaizer Chiefs (12).

In the last draw once morest Richards Bay (0-0) last Saturday, the Buccaneers showed a great lack of efficiency since they might not jump the lock despite their 15 shots. A worrying situation for the Spanish coach.

“Any things to improve in our attack? What upset me a little at first is that we can’t talk regarding the last move, in my opinion. We can talk more regarding the penultimate one. I think we’ve had many situations that we should wrap up with something simple. Instead we tried to do something very complicated. So we have to work on that,” he explained.

For their next match, the Pirates will host AmaZulu on Friday October 14 at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, as part of the 5th day of the South African Premiership.
