Other human remains found in a wooded area of Saint-Jean

The Saint-Jean Police Department announced Monday afternoon that they have once again discovered human remains in a wooded area located in the east of the port city.

This is the second such discovery in less than 48 hours in the area between Lakewood Heights and Golden Grove Road.

On Friday, human skeletal remains were found by a hiker who immediately contacted police who attended shortly after 6 p.m.

The second discovery was made on Sunday, said Sean Rocca, director of communications for the Saint-Jean Police Force.

The two places are located within a fairly short distance, the police spokesman added.

A group of experts made up of a forensic anthropologist, an odontologist and members of the coroner’s office and the forensic identification service are busy analyzing and attempting to identify the human remains.

The police had already carried out searches in this area in the spring of 2021, in an attempt to find Kyle LeBlanc, a man who has been missing since December 2020 and who was 30 years old at the time of his disappearance. –SL
