Our mistakes: naming jokes forbidden, naming mistakes actually too – media

Name jokes are frowned upon in the STANDARD editorial team. One of the most important beneficiaries of this practice has now fallen victim to a phenomenon that we also want to avoid: the typo. Gottfried Waldhäusl himself is not known for his fine blade, but that doesn’t change our intention to spell his name correctly. In our report on the presentation of satirical awards by the ORF satirist Peter Klien, we accidentally renamed the Lower Austrian state politician “Landhäusl”. It would still have been more flattering if we had changed the second half of the surname. And so we’re as close to a name joke as we dare.
