After a good six decades of nuclear energy, the last three nuclear power plants in Germany went offline a week ago: Isar 2 in Bavaria, Neckarwestheim 2 in Baden-Württemberg and Emsland in Lower Saxony. In the euphoric early days of nuclear power plants it was still said that electricity meters might be abolished because nuclear power was unbelievably cheap. Today the balance sheet is completely different.
