Washington Capitals head coach Peter Laviolette reported that the Russian striker Alexander Ovechkinmost likely will not return to the team this week.
“According to Laviolette, Ovechkin is not expected to return to the team this week,” journalist Sammy Silber tweeted.
“Laviolette didn’t say much about Ovechkin’s absence, but said he wishes Alex and his parents the best,” journalist Tariq El-Bashir tweeted.
Recall that today it became known that due to family circumstances and the “health of a loved one” Ovechkin was forced to leave the team.
Note that now Ovechkin is the second in the list of the best goalscorers in the history of the National Hockey League. The Russian striker scored 812 goals in his career in North America. The 37-year-old captain of Washington has 82 goals left to catch up with Wayne Gretzky (894).
