The women’s website “Women’s Yang” encourages people to “love every aspect of themselves”. Jasmine accepted an exclusive interview with Women’s Yang to share her journey of bravely fighting cancer and striving to live a glorious life.

When I was nine years old, I suddenly felt a hard lump in my neck, and my life began from then on.

Jasmine said that her life was no different from that of ordinary people, until she felt a lump on her neck when she was 9 years old. She did not expect to go to the doctor and found out that it was thyroid cancer. I understand, I only know that surgery is needed to cut out the malignant tumor. After waking up from the operation, I have a stinging scar on my neck, and I am too weak to get up to go to the toilet by myself.

Later, she learned that the cancer cells had spread to the lymph and lungs. When she received radioactive iodine 131 treatment, she heard the doctors chatting and mentioned that there was a girl who was about her age. After the cells transferred and spread to the next life, she was startled to realize, “So I will die if I get this disease! .

“Mom, will I die? Will I still be able to go to school?” At that time, Jasmine was still very young, and she had almost never experienced the death of relatives and friends in her life. Her parents always smiled when she asked her childishly. So, he could only hide from her and shed tears secretly.

After thyroid cancer surgery, Jasmine had to take thyroxine for life to maintain normal body functions due to total thyroidectomy, and received a major injury card at a young age.

Unexpectedly, the suffering was not over yet. When Jasmine was 12 years old, she discovered that the cancer had recurred, and it was confirmed that the cancer had metastasized to the lymph and lungs. Another surgery was performed to remove all the cancer, resulting in a large V scar all over her neck. Fortunately, the atmosphere and relationship at home have always been close, and the family always cares about and chats with each other, allowing Jasmine to choose to be strong and optimistic.

“When I relapsed at the age of 12, I thought it was an experience. I remember I wrote an essay, saying that since this is already a fact, there is nothing you can do about complaining, and you can’t change being sad or angry, so take it as a gift. !”

Jasmine went through elementary school, junior high school, high school, and university all the way. Because she likes to play sports, she participated in the team challenge competition. The only trouble is that her neck has scars from her chin to her collarbone. She usually wears clothes with collars to cover up the scars. But when he plays, his neck is exposed, and his teammates often laugh at him saying that his neck is terrible. As the years go by, the scar fades away and it no longer bothers him.

Peaceful Coexistence with Cancer Cells or Active Extermination

After surgery for thyroid cancer, a course of radioactive iodine 131 is required to kill the remaining cancer cells. However, after Jasmine took three courses of iodine 131, she found that the lung cancer cells could not absorb iodine 131 because of her physical condition. The doctor suggested that she should live with it peacefully. , After junior high school, it will be observed by tracking every six months or one year.

Jasmine said that she loves sports and life. She plays all kinds of ball games, handball in elementary school, relay volleyball in the tug-of-war team in middle school, and volleyball in high school and college. Most of the time, she is no different from ordinary people.

“In addition to being weaker and prone to colds, sometimes the body will be more easily fatigued than ordinary people. Remember to take thyroxine every day, and remember to register and follow up for three to six months. Cancer has coexisted peacefully with me all the way. If it is not for major injuries, I will Forgetting that I am different from ordinary people, I even thought about going on like this until I met other doctors who told me that I should deal with it actively.”

After changing the hospital for an examination , the doctor suggested to take active measures to avoid the explosion of time bombs.

After re-doing the puncture, biopsy and a lot of examinations, she found that there was indeed a residual tumor on the neck and small nodules in the lungs. The doctor suggested using targeted drug therapy, and then Iodine 131 could be used. Coexisted.

Under the advice of the doctor, Jasmine finally found a targeted drug that can be precisely treated through genetic testing of slices, and the course of treatment will start in September this year.
