Overdose: Kojima’s new horror game on the run, first details before the announcement | XboxOne

Hideo Kojima’s creations are always eagerly awaited by a large part of the players and today it is new information concerning his next project which reaches us through Tom Henderson and tryhardguides.

Overdose, Kojima’s new game

The insider indicates that Kojima’s next game would be called “Overdose” and that it would be a survival horror. Tom Henderson mentions having had the opportunity to see images of the game featuring a character who looks like Mama, from Death Stranding.

If that’s surprising enough, he explains that he thinks it’s just a character played by actress Margaret Qualley with no Death Stranding location, before describing the footage he’s seen:

Footage shows the character walking through dark hallways with a flashlight in a third-person view, but it’s been suggested that the game can also be played in first-person. At the end of the video, an alert message shows “GAMEOVER” followed by “A Hideo Kojima Game”… “OVERDOSE”.

An announcement at the Summer Game Fest?

Tom Henderson mentions that there is a good chance that the game will be announced soon. The Summer Game Fest seems to be the perfect place since a photo showing Geoff Keighley in the middle of a “Zoom” conversation with Hideo Kojima surfaced recently on the web.

Additionally, just yesterday, Keighley also tweeted:

There’s nothing like the feeling of seeing a good “World Premiere” arrive in your inbox.

The other hypothesis would be that the title could be revealed during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase since rumors have been evoking for a while now a partnership between Microsoft et Hideo Kojima. Tom Henderson, however, indicates that he was unable to verify whether the agreement had been successful.

Anyway, we obviously remain very enthusiastic about the idea of discovering this new project which should not take long to reveal itself.
